Nude Figure in the Environment - West

This six day Figure in the Environment-West workshop offers the participant a hands-on approach to making great images. High quality instruction and creative techniques provide the individual with the opportunity to explore his or her photographic expression under the guidance of experienced instructors. The daily photographic sessions will include different locations in the Grand Junction & Moab areas. Grand Junction is surrounded by the Colorado National Monument area; an areas of vast towering rock and mountain formations. Moab, Utah is less than a two-hour drive west of Grand Junction and is well known for Arches National Park located there. The monumental arches and red slick rock formations are known worldwide for their natural beauty. We will be working in secluded and privately owned properties. Models pose among slick rock formations, rivers, slot canyons and mountain retreats. Instruction will emphasize the advantages of natural light photography, metering, the use of the "Zone System" for Black & White, color slide photography and Digital Imaging. Learn the proper use of filters, fill-light, syncro-sun flash photography, and posing models. Evening sessions will include casual get-togethers where participants will have an opportunity to discuss the day's events, view the evening slide presentations and enjoy the comradery of fellow students. Everyone is encouraged to bring their portfolio for a group for a review and critique. Participants will have the opportunity to have their E-6 slide films process during the workshop to help assure maximum productivity and results. Professional lab service is available in both Grand Junction and Moab. Digital Photographers will be expected to bring a laptop computer.  Workshop fees do not include accommodations, meals, or transportation to and from Grand Junction, Colorado. Ground Transportation is provided from the hotel to all shooting locations. A registration deposit of $300 must be placed at least two months before the workshop to guarantee your enrollment.
